For restaurants that still take orders by phone

Keep your phone. Keep your till. Stop losing the calls you can’t get to.

Ring picks up when your line is busy or nobody can reach it — takes the order, reads it back, and sends it to the kitchen. You change one thing: a forwarding code you dial once.

The calls you miss don’t show up anywhere

A rush is exactly when the phone rings and exactly when nobody can answer it. Those callers don’t leave a message and they don’t call back — they order somewhere else, and nothing in your day tells you it happened. It is the only money a restaurant loses without a record of losing it.

Do this sum with your own numbers

Calls you miss in a week × your average ticket × 4.

Whatever that comes to is what a busy line costs you a month. Most owners already have a number in mind — this is the one piece of software that turns it back into orders instead of asking you to work harder.

Three steps, and one of them is “do nothing”

  1. 01

Your phone rings as it always has

Staff pick up exactly like today. Nothing about the front of house changes, and nobody has to learn anything.

  2. 02

If nobody gets to it, the call rolls to us

You dial one forwarding code on the restaurant phone — we tell you which one. Only busy and unanswered calls come to us. You can turn it off from the same handset.

  3. 03

The order lands in the kitchen

Read back to the caller and confirmed before they hang up, then straight onto the screen and the ticket printer with everything else.

You find out exactly what it earned

Not a projection and not a percentage uplift. The orders it took are in your orders list beside every other one, and the total on your dashboard is the sum of those rows. If you think the number is wrong you can click it and count.

The phone is the way in. It isn’t all of it.

One menu behind all of it — so when the kitchen runs out of something, it stops being sold on the phone, on the website and at the table at the same moment.

The questions everyone asks

I already use Toast, Square or Clover.
Keep it. This sits on the phone line, not on the counter, and it does not need to talk to your till. Orders arrive on their own screen and print like any other ticket.
Do I have to change my number?
No, and you shouldn’t. Your number is on every menu, receipt and shopfront in town. You forward it — we get a number of our own that customers never need to know.
What if it takes an order wrong?
It reads the whole order and the total back before placing anything, and it will not sell an item or a price that isn’t on your menu. When it is unsure, or the caller is unhappy, it hands the call to a person instead of guessing.
I don’t want a robot answering my regulars.
It won’t. On the default setting it only ever gets the calls your staff could not reach — the ones currently ringing out. Anyone you pick up to still talks to you.
What happens when we’re slammed and the wait is longer?
You tap “busy” and it starts quoting the longer time to everyone it talks to. Overpromising a pickup time is the fastest way to make a good order into a complaint.

Worst case, it fails to rescue calls you were already losing.

That is the honest downside, and it is why there is nothing to weigh up. Thirty days, your own number, one forwarding code you can undo from the same handset.
